In a statement signed by the Director of the Cameroon Development Corporation(CDC) ,the company acknowledges its debt to it's workers and promises solution to this issue.The Cameroon Development Corporation is one of the country's largest employer after the state.This agro-industrial company created in 1947 has approximately 18239 employees , CDC specializes in the production of rubber, bananas and palm oil . The Cameroon Development Corporation is also one of the country's top exporters to the EU Market and worldwide. CDC saw a substantial reduction of 34,7% in its workforce between 2021-2022 , resulting in more than 5000 staff departures.These alarming figures,were revealed in the 2022 report of the Technical Commission for the Rehabilitation of Public and Para-public Sector Enterprises, highlighting the worrisome situation of public entreprises and establishment. Indeed, the security crisis had a devastating impact on the company, which was already one of the Country's largest employers .The repeated attacks on facilities and employees forced the company to reduce its work force. The financial losses were also significant with a wage debt of more than 30 billion Cfa Francs by 2023.
