Health : USA Allocates An Extra Cfa 900 Million To Combat Hiv/Aids In The Littoral Region.

The Regional Health Promotion Fund in the Littoral Region receives significant reinforcement of its funding with an additional aid of over Cfa 900million granted by the United States Agency for International Development. This support that seeks to enhance the project titled "increase the availability of health products across all the regions of Cameroon, falls under the umbrella of the US President's Emergency Plan to combat HiV/AIDS launched in August 2023 in Douala with a budget of Cfa 588 million , that had for objective to empower local stakeholders to develop effective and sustainable solutions in the field of antirétroviral drugs supply chains in Cameroon. According to health expert in the domain, the Littoral Region counts 84.723 people living with Hiv thus emergency plan has to be put in place to prevent the expansion of this figures. The Government of Cameroon aims at reducing considerably the numbers of people affected at horizon 2030 , test and supply treatment to approximately 95% of people countrwide.To remind that the US Government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is among the list of the largest donors of assistance to Cameroon, providing over Cfa 300billion each year to assist morethan 1million people in Cameroon . Therefore this additional contribution by USAID to Cameroon to fight against HIV/AIDS demonstrate the firm commitment of the US Government to support Cameroon with a range of services that touch on health, education, socio and economic needs, overall improve the wellbeing of children living with Hiv.
