A budget of 100 000 000  Cfa Francs has indeed enabled the construction of a bridge over the Koume River (Bertoua) under the communal project management of the Bertoua I Municipality,as reported in an information note from the Ministry of Public Works. To project seeks to connect the entire region a major agricultural production hub and facilitate the transportation of products and production inputs to local and Sub-regional markets, while ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. The budget of more than Cfa 100 000 000 allocated from both the Road Fund and the Public Investment Budget -Ministry of Public Works has enabled the completion of the works. At present the works have been realized at 100% . The project recieved on November 14 ,2024 inline with the National Development Strategy demonstrates the goverment's commitment to the wellbeing of its population. The newly constructed bridge in Bertoua is expected to drive social and economic progress in town and across the East region as a whole. The East region is a region abundant in agricultural and mineral resources and shares borders with Congo and Central African Republic. The new bridge will enhance the transportation of agricultural products from the East region to other parts of the country and neighboring countries, thereby contributing to the economic development of the East region in particular and the country general.
