This entry by the Cameroon custom, incorporate within the frame work of the operation "stop to illicit trade" with the aim of putting an end to the importation and circulation of non-biodegradable plastics non compliant with the current regulations. This measure , according to the government aims at preserving the environment from the nefastic effect of this waste plastic smuggle into the country From neighbouring states.In other to preverse Human life and the environment,the Cameroonian government in 2014 had strickly prohibited the importation, fabrication and the commercialisation of these plastic in favour of Raphia,banana leaves and utensil free of negatives effects, .Despite the effort put inplace by the government,the fight against this movement remains a challenge , vivid examples of these challenges reflect on the fact that,in 2021 ,42 tons of the improper plastics have been seize and destroyed,Another situation is registered in 2023,whereby according to the Ministry of the Environment ,approximately 5042,75 tons of non-biodegradable platics ,The recent case is that of the seizure of 25000 pieces on july 14 2024. The Cameroon government salute the effort made by the custom to fight against illicit trade and remain determined despite the challenges to put an end to this situations. In concrete terms,this is a way of encouraging the Cameroonian population to throw them selves in entrepreneurship to innovate and think on how to produce these plastic with locally materials free from negative impact.
