According to the Ministry of Economy's competitiveness report, Cameroon's 2023 exports on the global market largely stem from the forestry and timber exploitation sector,these include specifically Sapele and Iroko Sawn Wood.Cameroon ranked as the top global exporter of these two wood species in 2023. Cameroon also stood out in 2023 for its international shipments of other sawn tropical timber, ranking as the world's third-largest Similarly, Cameroon ranked 8th among the 10 global exporters of veneer sheets during this period. Cameroon ranks 3rd globally in Cocoa paste exports , driven by enhanced local production capacity. Recent investment in industrial Cocoa processing have contributed to this growth with the commissioning of three new facilities, including Atlantic Cocoa, Neo industry and Africa processing, which have commenced operations over the last three cocoa seasons.Concerning the rubber Sector, Cameroon ranks 8th worldwide in the export of fresh natural rubber latex , attributed to the contribution of major industry stakeholders notably: the Cameroon Development Corporation, Sud Cameroun Hévéa and Hévécam.Beside these products ,Cameroon is also recognized for its hydrocarbon exports , particularly crude petroleum oil and liquefied gas , ranking 20th among global exporters . According to Cameroon's foreign trade report published by the National institute of statistics, these two products generated 52% of the country's export revenues totalling 421,3billion , a decline from 631,5billion in 2022. Globally, Cameroon's exports to the world market remains extremely low , with a mere 0.002% market share .Indeed , Cameroon ranks 116th among global exporters in 2023 , dropping two places from its 2022 ranking, highlights the competitiveness committee's report.
