The main objective of this call for application for parking management aims at fighting against urban disorder and optimise tax revenue in a town where Municipal taxes disposes of less than 5agents dedicated to recovery .The cost of parking has been set at CFA 100 per hour and 500 CFA the day ,in accordance with the law on local taxation. Launched for the first time in 2006 in Cameroon, paid public parkings are instruments of regulation of urban practices particularly in urban areas in town like Yaounde and Douala , Bafoussam witnessing a high level of the population and vehicles whereby sanctions reserved in case of non-respect of this procedure leds to hoof installation,removing of an impounded car is estimated at cfa 25000 and 100000 depending on the size and category of the vehicle.According to statistics ,the rights of occupation of public parkings contributed to the tax revenue of the town estimated at CFA 51,19 billion in 2023 representing 8.6% of the actual budget of the Douala Urban Municipality estimated at CFA 59, 5Billion.According to the call for application signed last July 18,2024 the latest date for the offer is set up for August 20th 2024.This move by the Douala Urban Municipality aims at disciplining vehicle drivers to respect the codes of the road to avoid the mismanagement of public places by individuals.
