The announcement was made by the world Bank administrator for Cameroon , Abdoul Salam Bello during an audience granted by the Minister of Public Work Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi. The discussion during the meeting carries essentially on the construction and rehabilitations of road infrastures in Cameroon. The audience was equally an occasion for the Minister of Transport to present some road infrastructural projects ongoing or in gestation in the country that requires the mobilisation of significant funding ,amongst which are the Batouri-Youkadouma road , the Mamfe-Akwaya road and the road that will enable the free circulation and evacuation of  Iron ore from  mbalam to kribi deep sea port in the south region. This additional funding from the World Bank aimed at boosting development in Cameroon, adds to the numerous  active projects ongoing in Cameroon funded by the World Bank that is the rehabilitation of the Bamenda -Babadjou road , the rehabilitation project of the Mora-Dabanga-Kousseri corridor and another additional fund of morethan cfa 29.4 billion mobilise by the World Bank for the rehabilitation of urban roads in Bamenda. There is a saying that say " where a road passes there goes infrastructure development and bring people together, to a greater extend establish economic activities" .Overall this initiative enters inline with the new partnership framework 2025-2029 between Cameroon and the World Bank.
