The decline in joblessness,is driven by rising employment in sectors like : Agriculture, trade , mining, construction, community social services and utilities.
According to the Quarterly Labor Force Survey from the National Statistics Agency, the number of unemployed individuals decreased by 373,000 bringing the total down to 8 million.This drop in unemployment rate in South Africa according to the government, marks a significant step forward for the economy and it demonstrates the government dedication working with all relevant stakeholders.The youth 15 to 34 years remain vulnerable in the labor market. The third quarter of 2024 results show that, the total number of unemployed youth decreased by 171, 000 to 4,8 million, while employed youth recorded an increase of 66,000 to 8,8 million.
