This initiative launched on June 5,2024 and will pursue still September 30,2024 aims at guarantee the security of roads commuters at the countdown to vacation and the period of back to school across the national territory.The Minister of Transport went on the ground to touch to hand the realities on our highways with the principal objective of reinforcing security measures and intensify the repression against attribute at risk and principal factors of accidents.In a communiquer released by the Ministry of Transport we learned that on 290 vehicles control,210 has been authors of diverse infractions amongst: Poor vehicles conditions, excess speed ,non respect of transportation rules , overloading of goods and passengers, abscente of driving licences that contribute each year at rising the level of death rate due to road accidence, to those confronted , The Minister has applied severed sanctions to serve as an example to other road users and transporters challenging the government.According to statistics by the United Nations Organisation roads in Cameroon are amongst the most deadly in Africa.Between 2011- 2017 not less than 7200 people died of road accident, only in 2020 road accident in Cameroon registered   3275 deaths which are attributed to the poor condition of roads , excess speed. According to statistics by the Minister of Transport , the number of road accident and death has relatively reduced on our highways passing from 3275 to 3000 this efforts can be attributed to the repressive work of MinTransport,forces of Defence and Agents of Road safety. The Minister of Transport aims at considerable reduce the level of road accident using brutal methods that will enable to reduce the level of death on our highways and calls on the collaboration of all stakeholders especially at this period of congestion due to back to school .
