In April 2024 during the working visits of the French Ambassador in Cameroon Thierry Marchand ,The Director of the French Development Agency and The Minister of Urban Development Celestine Ketcha Courtes ,Minister Courtes affirmed that morethan Cfa 30billion will be invested in Bamenda that is approximately cfa 21billion for the highway with the aim of ammeliorating the urban movement in town.In the same vein ,the cities of Bafoussam ,Bertoua ,Garoua will benefit from the project . Bamenda will witness the construction of More than 18km of roads ,it primarily involves the segment Bamenda City Council road, Bamenda prison junction -Bmm , the Bamenda's Government Bilingual High school junction -Ndamukong .Apart from road construction , Bamenda will witness the construction of 3large-scale trading equipment: Ntatru market ,the Bamenda 1 new market and mile 4 market.Cfa 1Billion will be allocated for the rehabilitation of the new market B1 coupled with the construction of road acess leading to the market ,cfa 1.5billion will be aimed at installing a slaughterhouse at mile 4 to ammeliorate the condition of meat commercialisation in a conducive and hygienic condition.The programme equally aimed at ammeliorating street lighting, extend water nerwork and pur in place a platform for the collection of household waste . The meeting of August 13,2024 held by the Governor of the North West Region Lele Adolph l'Afrique calls on the responsibility and implications of every body for the smooth implementation of the programme in the town of Bamenda that has for objective to contribute to the economic development of the town , ammeliorate the living conditions of citizens and aims at reducing the challenges related to security faced by the population since the outbreak of the socio-political unrest in the region.
