The Conference on Climate change and development in Africa, provides a platform for African experts and brilliant minds to discuss topics like green growth, regional cooperation and climate finance. In 2024 , despite some improvement, Africa's green financing market remains under developed .From January to July, the African continent raised $ 4.4billion , compared to $ 287.1billion globally or the $2.1trillion raised by companies on global capital markets . African countries face in accessing necessary climate financing, despite a 2009 international commitment to provide $ 100billion annually for global climate resilience, only a fraction of the estimated $ 1.3 trillion needed has been raised . According to Josefa Correia Sacko, Africa's climate financing challenge is enormous, but it also present an opportunity to innovate in financial mechanisms and strengthen international cooperation. The success of this mobilisation will be crucial for the continent's future in the face of climate challenges.
