Livestock Farming: Cameroon Adopts 113 Norms To Enhance Product Competitiveness.

The Standards and Quality Agency of Cameroon has announced the adoption of 113 standards,applicable to products from livestock and fishery.

The standardization activities were conducted within the framework of the Livestock and Acquaculture Value Chain Development . Since its inception in 2021, the project has been designed to foster competitiveness, improve livelihoods for stakeholders and stimulate job creation. The adoption of these standards , applicable to various activities in the pork ,beef and fisheries industries, seeks to enhance the competitiveness of Cameroonian products both domestically and internationally. The project estimated at Cfa 75 billion , receives Cfa 55 billion in funding from the African Development According to experts, fish and livestock products will undergo rigorous monitoring from production to consumption, including marketing . This implies that the entire process must comply with standards that prescribe hygiene conditions among others.
