Infrastructure: More Than 5 Billion Fcfa Unlocked In Two Years For The Maintenance Of The Edea-kribi Road.

Since the onset of heavy rainfall, the Edea-kribi road riddled with potholes,has caught the attention of public authorities who deemed it urgent to repair them.

Following the allocation of almost 2billion Fcfa in 2022 ,the government has awarded a contract to SOMAF , a Cameroonian company specializing in building,civil engineering, import and export ,for the urgent maintenance and resurfacing of the Edea-Kribi road valued at around 3.5billion Fcfa.The announcement was made at the end of a reconnaissance visit to the Edea-kribi road, carried out by a delegation from the Ministry of Public Works .According to the Ministry of Public Works , the company has been instructed to urgently address critical areas to ensure smooth traffic flow until the full-scale construction works once the rainy season ends.The maintenance and repair works on the Edea-kribi road are part of the project to develop access roads for the kribi industrial and port zone.The project involves upgrading the existing 107-kilometer road and  building an interchange at the intersection with the lolabé-kribi-edea highway.The Edea-kribi road project construction will contribute in ammeliorating the living conditions of citizens in the locality: by creating jobs, facilitate the development of economic activities and ease the transportation of goods and passengers within and out of the locality.
