Infrastructural Development: Resumption Of Work On The Bafang-Nkondjock Road.

Despite the abundance of rainfall hindering the execution of roadworks on this essential corridor, significant actions have implemented.

The Bafang-Nkondjock road maintenance project, spanning 53,3 kilometers between the Littoral and the West Regions has been entrusted to CETP Sarl Company at a cost of 4,9 billion Cfa Francs. Although rain continue to fall in the area , the contractor in charge of this project (CETP Sarl Company) is slowly restarting its operations on the ground.According to the company's planned schedule, it is anticipated that road and infrastructure works will resume upon the end of the rainy season. The planned works to be executed within 36 months divided into 3 phases of 12 months each , consist of: Bitumen surfacing of steep slopes, stabilization of embankments and landslide -prone areas and periodic maintenance using specialized products. Indeed, the Cameroon government aims to lead the country towards emergence by 2035 through the implementation of economic, social and cultural development policies, the rehabilitation of this road is therefore a key element of this strategy. The project will not only facilitate the movement of people and goods between the Coastal and Western regions but also promote economic and social development in these area.
