ICT Development Index 2024: Cameroon Ranks 31st Of African Countries.

The ICT development index 2024 report released at the end of the month of June 2024, highlight that the average score for Africa has increase to 50.3 points an increase of 37 points from the 2023 index driven by improvement in the majorities of the countries.These percentages are based on the rate at which individuals are using the internet , broadband penetration, mobile broadband internet traffic,the cost of mobile data and voice services ,and mobile phones ownership rates.The reports reveals that Libya,Morocco and Seychelles top the list for the high ICT development level in Africa, that is libya tops with 88.1p, followed by Morrocco with 86.8p and Seychelles with 84.7p.Cameroon comes in the 31st position of this African ranking with 44.2% and at the Cemac zones, Cameroon tops amongst the 3first countries high ICT developped states.Eventhough there is a significant progress in ICT development amongst the African Countries,there existing gap existing amongst the countries is still very alarming that is libya top 1st with 88.1 and chad tops last with 21.3 ,regarding the positive advantages of ICT to a country and its population such as online education, online trade among countries both continental and international and online employment,therefore Internet and mobile phones usages should be encourage in Africa that will open more windows in the continent for economic, social and industrial development.
