According to the Ministry of livestock ,Fisheries and Animal industries ,Minepia in the french abbreviation, fish importation in Cameroon amounted to 234588 tons estimated at CFA 182,5billion . Mapping of frozen sea food suppliers in Cameroon ranks Netherlands at the top with a level of exportation estimated at 68730 tons amounting 42,6 billions, downgrading Chili that occupies this 1st position in 2022 and now occupying the 9th positing in 2023.Behind Netherlands, Mauritania comes in at the 2nd position followed by New-Zelande at the 3rd position ,Uruguay takes the 4th position and Norway at the 5th position .At the bottom of the lists of supplier countries ranking , we note the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Belguim close the list.According to Minepia data ,let's recall that the 2023 fiscal year has showned that in 2023 there was 23 countries of fish suppliers in Cameroon compared to the 30 countries estimated in 2022. It should be recall that according to a note by Minepia on the situation of production and importation of the sub-sector of livestock, Fisheries and Animal industries 2023 reveals that fish importation into Cameroon in 2023 has decrease by 3% , compared to the high volume of fish shipped into Cameroon.
