Brazzaville plans to reach an annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes, thanks to current investments made in partnership with Italy's ENI Group. If this projection outlined in the Central African States Bank's Monetary Policy Report materializes , the country's gas production will account for 11.4% of the total production of the Cemac region. In 2022 , Congo ,accounted for only 1% of the gas production in the sub-region . According to Italian Group ENI's projections , Congo is expected to strengthen its position in Cemac and global gas market by 2025 : Congo's gas production is expected to reach 3million tonnes per year,4.5billion m³ as from 2025. This promising outlook is driven by the completion of a second natural gas liquefaction plant, off the coast of Pointe-Noire. Equatorial Guinea ranks number one in Cemac for gas production, according to the BEAC's Monetary Policy Report, liquefied natural gas production in the country is forecasted to reach 4,6 million tonnes in 2024 , down from 5.3 million tonnes in 2023 . Nevertheless, this oil emirate of Cemac will accounts for 64% of the sub-region's total production.Similar forecasts apply to Cameroon, where production is expected to slightly increase this year following 1,7 million tonnes in 2024 , output is expected to reach 21% of the Sub-regional production . Gabon's production is forecasted to reach 305900 tonnes in 2024 , accounting 4% of the Sub-regional production. It's worth noting that Cameroon,Congo and Gabon all produces liquified natural gas using floating liquefied units, technically known as floating liquefied natural gas. These are essentially reconfigured methane tankers operating as production facilities in the open sea.The African Energy Chamber notes that, these infrastructure assests boost rapid deployment capabilities, and reduced costs, making them a more economical alternative.
