Economy: The Cameroonian Gov't Forecast A Rise In The Wage Bill To CFa 1663 Billion In 2025.

The Cameroonian Ministry of Finance ,has announced a forecast of Cfa 1663 billion to cover state personnel salaries in 2025.

As outlined in its meduum-term Economic and Budgetary Programming Document for 2025-2026 .The state personnel salary envelope is expected to increase to 1771 billion Cfa Francs between 2026-2027.The document reveals that in the first three months of 2024 , the Cameroonian government spent approximately 332 billion Cfa Francs on payroll, representing an increase of 33,7 billion cfa francs compared to the same period in 2024. According to the Ministry of Finance, the increase in public expenditure is due to the acceleration of the pace of payment of arrears, which rose from 32,2 billion Cfa Francs in 2023 to 42,4 billion Cfa Francs in 2024 .In Addition,the administration notes that , the increase in payroll is due to yhe 5% salary adjustment in February 2024 and the increase in the monthly family housing allowance which has risen from 2,800 francs to 4,500 francs per child .As stated by the document, the growing trend in the envelope allocated to state personnel salaries for the 2025-2027 peroid is attributed to the persistent nature of recruitment, salary and various career benefits. Overall, Cameroon hopes to met the sustainability ratio of public servants salaries by 2025.
