The additional funding of 1000 additional Birth certificate worth cfa 10billion will enable the youths from Doumé locality in the East Region to benefit from this important document that gives access to elementary rights.According to the latest statistical year book published in early 2024, 1.67million pupils are without a birth certificate .Nearly 47.1% of children in rural areas and priority education zones and approximately 5 million Cameroonian lack this important document,the reason for this phenomenon can be attributed to the prohibitive cost of this document which is a financial disincentives for low income families .Birth registration in Cameroon according to government officials remains a challenge in Cameroon,to put an end to this alarming trend the Cameroonian mayors on April 27 2024,during the First forum of Mayors on universal birth registration planned at implementing necessary measures to ensure the registration of every birth all around the country and build up collaboration between civil status offices and health sectors by opening civil status offices in health facilities.In addition to government efforts UNICEF has launched competition Among council to boost birth registration and initiave launched in April 27 in Yaounde during the first forum of Mayors held under the theme "One child ,One  Birth certificate,One identity". Providing identification for each child is a goal targeted by the government by 2030.
