Launched during the world Habitat Day celebration in October 2019 by the Ministry of Urban Development, the" clean City Contest"  is an initiative which falls within the framework of implementing the national hygiene and sanitation campaign launched by the Prime Minister, Head of Government.indeed the " clean City Contest"rating takes into account several parameters including: Road , social infrastructure clealiness, river maintenance, involvement of communal services , and communication methods used to raise public awareness. The Clean City 2024 national ranking: Ebolowa II Municipality secures 1st place and recieves a total of 102 million Cfa Francs, Nkambé Municipality came in 2nd and was awarded a total of 61,5 million Cfa Francs, Maya Darlé municipality secures 3rd position with a cheque of 60 million Cfa Francs, Douala 3rd Municipality comes in 4th winning 40 million cfa francs,5th place Mbalmayo Municipality with a cheque of Cfa 30 million ,6th place Guidiguis municipality with an award of Cfa 30 million, 7th place Bagangté  municipality with a cheque of 30 million Cfa Francs, Ngong municipality at the 8th position receiving cfa 25 million ,  Atok municipality 9th position wining cfa 20 million and at the 10th position, Tombel Municipality winning 10 million Cfa Francs.
