Cement production in Cameroon: PM Dion Ngute Inaugurates Cimpor Cement Factory Plant.

The inauguration of the Cimpor Cement factory comes after the Minister of Mines, industry and technological development Proff Fuh Calixtus Gentry visited the factory few weeks ago.The Cimpor Cement factory, Currently operating in the industrial and port area of Kribi, is the 6th cement factory in the country 9 years after des end of the monopoly of Cimenteries du Cameroun (Cimencam 2.3 millions of tons with the commissioning of the new line of figuil.With a production capacity of 1metric ton per year,the factory will contribute at boosting Cement production in the country to reach 8metric tons per year.This factory is aimed at substituting clinker with clay in the production of affordable cement production,projecting Cameroon at the second position of countries after Ghana to adapt this technology.In line with the import-substitution policy instructed by the Head of State President Paul Biya, this factory is an important step for the industrial development of the country in the line to creat profitable and benefits for the economic upgrade of the state budget.Accompanied by the Governor of the South Region Felix Nguele Nguele, Local leaders,Admistrative authorities of the town,Religious leaders, administrative authorities of the kribi port ,the population,PM Dion ngute launch this new cement factory in the south region which marks an important step for the town of Kribi and neighbour localities to promote development in the domain of activities in the area.Onbehalf of the head of state, PM Dion Ngute aurgues the population to put ahead initiative and encourages the population to consume locally made product to fight against the negative impact of imports to both the state and the population. Overall calls on the Entreprises be it public or private to put ahead initiative as that of Cimpor.
