Cattle Farming Sector In Cameroon: Importation From Chad Witnesses An Increase Of 19888 Animals In 2023.
Dernière mise à jours il y'a 3 moisAccording to statistics made known by the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal industries(Minepia ),the Importation of animals into Cameroon coming from Chad has witnessed an increase of 19888 animals that is an increase of 70% in 2023.

The Importations left from 29718 animals at 49606 animal in 2023.This increase in Animal Importation by Cameroon from Chad aims at reinforcing local demands . According to the Annual Notes of the Sub-industries of livestock, Fisheries and Animal industries in 2023 by Minepia reveals that 49606 is the number of animals ( beef , cattle , cow) Cameroon imported from Chad that is an increase of 19888 compared to the number imported in 2022. With this increase in the level of importation from Chad one can estimate that the level of national production is insufficient to respond to the huge national demand and to remind that apart from the animals imported from Chad, the other animals that served at supplying demand principally comes from the North region, Far North and adamawa that is 44%, 34% and 20% respectively.According to the Quarterly distribution of animals importation into Cameroon in 2023, in detail in Q1 Cameroon has imported 14054 , in Q2 it decrease at 6686 as in Q3 witnessed a decrease at 5167and Q4 witnessed an increase by 23699 . According to the National Institute of Statistics, Cameroon spend CFA 7,269 billion for the Importation of 4450,4 tons yearly .
