Cashew Sector: Worth Cfa 34.5 Billion To Boost The Production Of The Agricultural Product By 2030.
Dernière mise à jours il y'a 4 moisThe Cameroonian government has adopted a new strategic document of the value chains of Cashew sector,for the production and promotion of cashewnut commonly called in french Noix de Cajou'.

This document was officially launched in Yaounde July 3 ,2024 during a ceremony presided by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Gabriel Mbairobe.The adaptation of this new document aims at boosting the sector (cashew production) with 50,000 tons and an estimated revenue of cfa 50billion by 20230 ,an placing Cameroon among the top 10 countries producers of the agricultural product the World thereby paving a way for Cameroon to increase its shipping rate to the regional and international market thus contributing at increasing the state revenue.In 2020 Cameroon produced 50 tons of Cashewnut,an amount of production under the objectives planned by the government in 2018.To meet up the new objectives adopted in the document for the 2024-2030 development of the Cashew sector,The government has allocated a sum of Cfa 34,5 to meet up its objectives that is cfa 19,7 billion will be allocated for sustainable increase in productivity of the sector, cfa 1.8billion to increase the reinforce the marketing sector ,Cfa 2,6billion for the ammelioration of governance and the capacity of actors in the sector. The overall objective of this new document adopted by the Government aims at reaching and exceeding the objectives included in the rural sector development strategy/ Agricultural investment plan put in place by the government through the ministry of agriculture and Rural Development in association with actors in the sector.
