Cameroon : September 2024 Sees Inflation Rate Climb On An Annual Basis.

The National institute of statistics report, published on October 23,2024 attributes the inflationary growth to the upward pressure on local goods and services prices .As a result, the country's inflation rate has increased to 4.4 % as of September 2023. As reported by the National institute of statistics, this abrupt change ,which reverses the trend, is mainly due to to 5.9% surge in food prices and an 11,2% jump in transportation costs , ending a 14-month streak of slowing growth. The inflation rate in Cameroon exceeds the Cemac's 3% target for September 2024 , according to statistics from the National institute of statistics .
