He made this announcement on October 10, 2024 at the Community Council Meeting on the 2025 budget Orientation. The Mayor's priorities for 2025 are: Completion of ongoing roadworks, Improvement of Public lighting, Household waste collection.The town of Yaounde has been facing a waste management crisis for several months To address this issue, the Yaounde Urban Community launched an international call for tenders last June 2024 ,to recruit new waste collection service providers,with a projected budget of 61,8 billion Cfa Francs. In response to this issue, last September 2024 , the Government allocated the sum of cfa 200 million for yaounde to tackle the escalating sanitation issues in Yaounde and the beautification projects in the city, in prelude to the year- end festive .In addition the operation "Knock out punch, Yaounde Trash-free initiative launched on July 2024, an a clean up operation organised during the month of September all these initiatives aimed at reducing the level of household waste deposit in the city of Yaounde  .
