Agro -Industry: Célestin Tawamba's Cadyst Group Acquires Castle's Flour Mill In Cameroon And Congo.

On October 16,2024 Castle's subsidiary Somdia revealed plans to divest its wheat flour production facilities in Cameroon and Congo to Cadyst, a Cameroonian Conglomerate helmed by Célestin Tawamba.

This decision is part of Somdia's strategic reorganization to refocus its operations on agriculture and primary processing in Africa.Following the acquisition of le Grand Moulin du Cameroun and le Grand Moulin du Phare in Congo , the Cameroonian industrial group, will emerge as a leading player in the Cemac's region's milling industry.With a significant presence in Cameroon's flour milling industry through Cadyst  Grain (ex la pasta) which has a daily processing capacity of 900 tonnes, Cadyst is well-positioned to expand its market share in Cameroon's milling market.According to Célestin Tawamba, President of Cadyst Group , this acquisition represents a unique opportunity to accelerate our Pan-African development strategy, through the intergration of a high-performance industrial tool and quality human resources , ensuring the growth of both companies while upholding our commiment to local production that meets the highest international standards.This acquisition solidifies Cadyst's position as a leading national and sub-regional player, leveraging the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area.
