AFRICAN CONTINENTAL FREE TRADE: Douala Port Hosts The Inaugural Ceremony for The First Containerised Shipment To Algeria
Dernière mise à jours il y'a 4 moisThe ceremony presided by the Minister of Trade Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana took place on July 5,2024, in presence of the Local administrative authorities, Douala Port authorities ,and a host of senior officials amongst whom executives from Alucam.

The shipment that consists of containers of 25 tonnes of aluminium ingots manufactured by Cameroon Aluminium Company (Alucam) for the Algerian company ALFILECT ,has been concluded under the coordination of the Cameroon national shipper's council which has currently host the Ad-hoc sub -commitee charged with the the implementation and monitoring of the AFCFTA Guided trade initiative in Cameroon. This operation is one of the outcomes of the negotiations that started in Egypt in November 2023,when Alucam took part in the Intra-African Trade fair in Cairo.This inauguration of the first shipment under AFCFTA comes exactly 1 year after Cameroon's first import under this regime
