Among the Central theme of this meeting was the establishment of the African Energy Bank , a joined initiative with the African Bank of Export -Import (Afreximbank ). The establishment of this bank (African Energy Bank) is an initiative aimed at mitigating and compensating for the gradual withdrawal of traditional donors, who are becoming reluctant to fund energy projects due to growing concerns related to climate change. Talks on the  African Energy Bank kicked off with the signing of an agreement protocol in Uganda in 2022.  The African Energy Bank's establishment offers Cameroon a strategic chance to tap into investment opportunities in its oil and gas sector, which is rich in Petroleum and gas ressources.On June 4, 2024 Egypt witnessed the signing of the establishment agreement and charter of the African Energy Bank.A pivotal milestone in the initiative's progress. To date, 45% of the bank's envisioned $5 billion equity capital has been committed.
