This capital injection will permit the banking group to boost its capital by issuing 6.8 billion new shares. This transaction which was finalized last November, offers existing shareholders the opportunity to increase their shareholding. The main purpose of this capital raise is to support the bank's expansion plans in Africa. The banking group's primary objective with this capital increase is to reinforce their capabilities and leverage growth opportunities. The fund will also be used to increase the group's presence in Africa. It's worth noting that, UBA Group is committed to fostering economic development across the continent through various strategic partnerships including its collaboration with the African Continental Free Trade Area. The banking Group has made a commitment to provide over 1000 billion Cfa Francs in funding to support African Small and medium-sized enterprises in Africa.
